Then i was introduced to this co. melaleuca . I ask the guy but he say melaleuca not mlm le. Then he show me lots of product etc at the showroom at shaw tower or centre...

Then he say go inside meeting room to see some training. me nothing to do at that time say ok and agree to go in and take a look.

the training was ok la but boring maybe coz of the age group. I was 18 surrounded by aunties & uncles. The training took abt 2-3hrs. Then they guy show me his testimonials la, work experience la...

wen i was alone, a new member oso sat wif me and i ask her if she noe the compensation plan. she showed me... Its mlm lor. Then the guy came back and closed the file that the lady was showing.

I was like WTF, why so secretive? Then he like pushing me to go and sign the contract thing. Coz i below 21, he ask me to persuade my parents... I wasnt interested in doing all this lor.

Then he say, i dun wan to be successful meh? WTH! to be successful can be done only in mlm le? Like shit sia... Then aft that everyday call me to persuade me to join...

The ad in the New Paper was a lie lor.

What no investement, no selling? Still must pay ma.

so pissed sia... now i change no. his method is so unethical lor!

They can call it:

binary scheme
network marketing
single level marketing SLM
personal franchising
"starting own biz"

MLMs are always like that. Hide the truth of the biz til the very last moment. I've been tricked before by some 17yo girl. Said what start on biz, blah blah blah... Then she said she could retire early. I said passion job more important, she got despo and said "in the world now where go interest job"

MLMs, 99% of them are inethical because they are profit driven, since they have no basic pay, the commission drives them, worse when the seniors preach stuff like financial freedom, "success", etc. Turning the whole thing into a cult.

Actually Melaleuca have a system where you can get the $ down 7 levels max. So when you start you are already at the top or bottom of the 7th level above.

There is 2 group in melaleuca in singapore. i believe that the group that you went to is the other group that i joined. Our group don't use the technique of placing an ad in the newspaper.

The real thing about melaleuca is that they want to to become a prefer customers. And you could choose between helping the company refer the products to people or you can just buy the products alone and just using the products.

So by any company they don't Advertise through media , they need to get some ways to sell their products.( you all should know ) They get people to pass the message to people who are close to. So you take the role of an Advertiser for Melaleuca. By doing that they allow you to get the $ earn below your level. Yes, it might look like MLM, but once the person you refer knows how to use the products and what to buy for their needs. They can go to the "showroom" you said to purchase the products. (it's a supermarket isn't it?) Which company put their products on shelf for you to take and pay at the cashier?

So what make it a MLM like you think.

1) They don't advertise,
2) People who take this as a MLM and do it the MLM way. ( you don't want to be successful meh? )
3) They have this level system for letting you get $ which you might think. (where got such good things)

I'm not trying to promote my company or something like that but it's disheartening those people who give the company a bad name ( sometimes i also pity them for not having a good leader and use this type of technique) . You are free to raise any doubts here or PM me if it's going to be flame.

From there you decide you like the products or not before you start to buy anything or want to be a one of the guys who take this as a career.

p.s (i'm 19 this year and i'm still not started yet and just using the products and i agreed that this company isn't for me yet as most of the products target audience is people who had a family. Age group 30 + )

MLM, since products are so good why not get mainstream retailers to carry?
Why some people resort to hiding the truth that they're mlm company til last min when attempting to recruit ppl in?

Why must use main stream to sell that items? Yes they could do that and let the intermediaries to gain those money (transport, retail, wholesale agents, advertiser ) What Melaleuca do is that they have their own shops they have their own transport they do their own research but skip the advertisement fees and give it back the their customers.

Is that really bad to do such things? The CEO himself said that he want people to gain wealth together with him by just doing what? refer to other people as long as you feel that the products that you are using is good. All he wanted is people to change brands like dynamo to a more eco-friendly products , Is that wrong? Even if you don't like his products anytime, you could just change back to any other brands. Is that hard? no.

The system are somehow "like" multi level but how different is Melaleuca to other companies, You need to find out more yourself and give your comments. if you just take a look from a bigger view. It's just a company who open a eco-friendly supermarket and don't advertise but asking members to refer the products to people.

Yes the only thing that is similar to MLM is that you get $ from the purchases down the 7 levels. Just treat it like Manufacturer to wholesale to retailer to customers. Yes the top might get all the profits. But why the top levels get lots of profit. Take an example, Hp Printers. The manufacturer sell them to many wholesale in different region of asia. In singapore they might be many retailer and each retailer sells to different customers. So is the top getting most of the $?

I try to explain as well as i could. It might still be flawed. Clarification are welcome. If there is something that i really can't defend and agreed with you. I will do so and if the bad points are over the good points. I still not defend anymore.

Like many people said, i might got psycho by those brain washer. So maybe you could wake me up. I've been purchasing their products for 4 months. And still not starting because i really don't want to give out false information to my friends. Maybe i could use this channel to get more ideas.

I appreciate that guy who call me to look around first. But i've been around looking on this type of things since 2-3 years or more?. See my date joined you might know how long i've stay inactive looking through those post once every few weeks or month, and seriously i get sick at looking at the wars around the posts in Enyouth and VE.

Last... Maintaining of acct muz be fixed in all positions..... not as in if i become a watever director or such.... from lowest maintain $100 to high level maintain $3-4k... which it appens in some MLM.....

Compensation Plan wise muz not be ON PAR or BREAKAWAY plan. 100% no BINARY PLAN.

Company support is very important.... company do any A/P campaign, celeb endorsement, public events and products avail at retail outlets..... ? Products price acceptable by the masses....

How you link Amway to Melaleuca anyway. lols.. The top and bottom thing, din i explain quite alot on them.

Melaleuca is NOTHING like Amway or those Multi-level deals.   I've been a customer for over 14 months now and I can tell you from first hand experience they are not like those multi level companies. 

They dont have distributors.  As a customer I just shop from the store and pick up what I want each month.  They do have a discount program where I get 40% off everything I buy which I love (and I love saving money :)

I've never been told to recruit anyone (though they do have a customer referal program I believe) 

I shop with them BECAUSE they have some of the best cleaning products I've ever used - and they're more natural and better for the environment which I like as well.  Their prices are good and their quality is great.

ok. but you may not know that those folks now here are the same folks from belair.

I heard the Ex-Belair L88 group, Raymond Sun went over......... He is a good guy. Only AAA has stockpile. L88, I have not heard that their upline to ask them to buy up........

So it looks like some Belair folks wised up and finally left MLM behind. 

Too many people have been hurt by Multi Level Marketing.  I wish the government would crack down on those scams.  It's nice to have a legitimate alternative to all that crap.

I see your point.  People can say anything they want – the proof is in the pudding, so they say.

I have been buying from them for several months now.  Prices good.  Love their cleaning products, and they have a product called Renew that has done better for my eczema than anything else I’ve ever used.  I find it like a GNC but with better prices and a better range of selection.

On a humorous note:

The reference below really could be attributed to any company saying they’re not MLM.  Like, say, McDonalds.  Those McDonald MLM slimeballs.
